Cursor: Model claude-4-sonnet doesn't have good agent support yet

Recently when using Cursor, you might encounter an error message: Model claude-4-sonnet doesn’t have good agent support yet. Start a new thread using Manual mode for better results.

As shown in the image below:

This issue is related to Cursor starting to restrict users from certain countries and regions from using the claude-4-sonnet model.

Solution

Click “Continue” to keep using it. If no other errors appear afterwards, you can ignore this message.

If you later encounter the error “Model not available. This model provider doesn’t serve your region”, refer to the following article for solutions:

If you see “Connection failed. If the problem persists, please check your internet connection or VPN Network disconnected [unknown]”, click the “Try again” button and retry once or multiple times.
